About this course
This course is designed for individuals responsible for supervising work in confined spaces. It covers key supervisory tasks, including planning and assigning team activities, pre-entry and post-entry procedures, personnel selection, maintaining communications, and managing emergency situations.
Course Objectives:
The aim of this unit is to align with the national occupational standard for supervising entry and related arrangements in confined spaces. It applies to both the water and non-water industry sectors.

Instruction:
Training is delivered by highly experienced instructors with extensive industry knowledge. Candidates are encouraged to ask questions throughout the course.
Important Information:
Please note that this course is delivered exclusively in English. Under City & Guilds examination regulations, the use of translators is not permitted during assessments.

Theory and practical.
The course combines classroom-based theory with practical exercises. Candidates will produce a ‘work plan’ for a CS entry to include a Risk Assessment, COSHH data sheet and Method Statement. Candidates will conduct the activity as per their work plan on Day 2 and make decisions and react to emergencies.
Pre-Requisites: 6160-09 for those wishing to supervise Medium Risk Confined Space work.
6160-03 for those wishing to supervise high risk Confined Space work.
Candidates must be 18 years of age.

After booking
Our courses vary so timings will be confirmed in your joining instructions. All candidates are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start to register and provide their photographic identification.
Directions
From M5 junction 30 take the A376, at the first roundabout take the second exit on to the A3052. Continue for approximately 1 mile and Westpoint enterance is on the left hand side (also signed as Devon Drivers Centre).
When entering through the main gates take the first turning on the right signed Red One Ltd Headquarters. Red One is the first red brick building on the right. Please park in the spaces on the right prior to the building.
