This course is designed for individuals who work in, or may be required to perform rescues from, high-risk confined spaces (NC4) where the use of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is necessary.

It is specifically intended for personnel who operate as part of a rescue and recovery team, preparing and executing emergency response operations in high-risk environments. The course is suitable for both water and non-water industry sectors.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this unit, candidates will be able to:

• Prepare for and undertake emergency rescue operations in confined spaces.
• Safely enter and exit high-risk confined spaces.
• Use emergency and recovery equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
• Recover casualties safely using appropriate handling techniques and devices.
• Follow operational procedures and maintain personal and team safety at all times.
