This course is a practical, scenario-based training program designed for individuals who may be required to enter and perform rescues in low to medium risk confined spaces as part of their job role. This includes personnel in utilities, construction, water, telecommunications, industrial maintenance, emergency services, and other sectors where confined space work is common.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the definitions, hazards, and classifications of confined spaces.
• Identify and implement safe systems of work and isolation procedures (e.g., lock-out/tag-out/try-out).
• Use air monitoring equipment to assess atmospheric conditions.
• Create and carry out a rescue plan including scene size-up, team roles, and communication.
• Set up and operate standard tripod and hoisting systems for vertical rescue.
• Demonstrate use of rescue harnesses, escape sets, and work restraint systems.
• Perform dynamic risk assessments, safety checks, and briefings.
• Execute safe entry and exit techniques for confined spaces, both under normal and emergency conditions.
• Tie appropriate knots, anchors, and terminations for rescue systems.
• Provide initial casualty care, safely secure them in a stretcher, and carry out vertical extrication.

Instruction:

Training is delivered by highly experienced instructors with extensive industry knowledge. Candidates are encouraged to ask questions throughout the course.
