About this course
The Confined Space Rescue Technician (CSRT) course is an intensive, hands-on course designed to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct technical confined space rescues as part of a small team. The course integrates practical exercises and scenario-based learning to address the complexities and hazards of working in confined spaces. Key topics include gas detection, legislation, atmospheric monitoring, anchoring systems, tripod use, hauling and lowering systems, casualty care, and the safe evacuation of victims from vertical and horizontal confined spaces.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for personnel who are required to perform as Confined Space Rescue Technicians, including industrial emergency response teams, fire and rescue services, utility workers, and contractors who may be called upon to perform technical rescues in confined environments.

- Understand confined space hazards, legislation, and risk assessments
- Perform atmospheric monitoring and gas detection
- Build and use safe anchor systems and pulley setups
- Conduct vertical and horizontal confined space entries using tripods, rope systems, and stretchers
- Rescue and evacuate casualties using safe and efficient techniques
- Apply self-rescue, team coordination, and incident management in simulated rescue scenarios
- Operate within internationally recognised confined space rescue guidelines

Theory and practical.
Delivery Format:
The course combines classroom-based theory with practical exercises.
Pre-Requisites: Candidates must be 18 years of age and clean shaven due to SCBA.
Course payments
If booking online please follow instructions, payment can be made using debit or credit card. Should you wish to pay by invoice please contact a member of our team and we will be able to process your booking for you. We require either payment or a purchase order at the time of reservation and will issue a formal invoice. Once payment has been successfully processed, we will issue your joining instructions.
Course materials, accreditation, a complimentary light lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
After booking
Our courses vary so timings will be confirmed in your joining instructions. All candidates are required to arrive 15 minutes prior to the course start to register and provide their photographic identification.
Directions
From M5 junction 30 take the A376, at the first roundabout take the second exit on to the A3052. Continue for approximately 1 mile and Westpoint enterance is on the left hand side (also signed as Devon Drivers Centre).
When entering through the main gates take the first turning on the right signed Red One Ltd Headquarters. Red One is the first red brick building on the right. Please park in the spaces on the right prior to the building.

I recently completed the Safe Working in Water (SWIW) course with Red One, sponsored by my employer, Lynwood Civil Engineering. As someone who works in environments near or in water as part of civil engineering projects, this training was exactly what I needed to build confidence and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Have done the safe working in water course course and it's been incredible. Our instructors Jason, Paul, and Bex were really fantastic trainers, making us feel safe and confident with each technique and ensuring we completed everything with confidence. I attended a course at Red One Limited a few months ago and was highly impressed with the structure and delivery of the training. Despite being set by City & Guilds, the course was well-organized, engaging, and thoroughly explained. The instructors, all ex-firefighters with extensive hands-on experience, ensured that no question was too trivial and took the time to support every participant.
The practical training was conducted in a new, well-equipped facility with multiple scenarios for entry, extraction, and event simulations. All equipment was in excellent condition—clean, well-maintained, and properly calibrated.

I attended Red One Confined Space Medium Risk Training at West Point, near Exeter on Monday & Tuesday 29th & 30th May 2024. Sam and Nick were exemplary instructors of the course, who gave detailed tuition from a safety and technical perspective. The practical aspect of the course was very realistic and gave me confidence to enter, exit and control confined space space access safely, whilst giving instruction on how to react in an emergency situation, The course provides proficiency in access, egress and escape routines and instruction in the use of breathing apparatus. I would recommend the course to anyone who needs to enter confined spaces.

I booked my taxi practical test with Red One, I ended up stuck on the A38 in a stand still - I rang the reception & they did everything they could to fit me in that same day, I arrived an hour late, and was greeted by Martin, I was straight away put at ease & managed to pass after my hours lesson before - in which I learnt to undo some
Bad habits! I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough, I think the hour lesson before helps settle any nerves and prepares you for the test itself. Thank you Red One,
